Today we read the first chapter of our book 'The Garden'. We found out:

Who the main characters were. Who gave them the puppy.

What the children got.

When they got the puppy. 

How they reacted......

Where they were.

Why did the Grandma get the puppy.

Term 2

Steel Pelicans

This book is a story about a group of daredevils called the Steel Pelicans.The members of the group are Dean and Pete Pelly for short. The Steel Pelicans are very dangerous because they use matches to make fireworks. In the first four chapters a shocking twist happens. The twist is that Pelly's Dad has revealed that the family is moving back to New Zealand. Meanwhile Dean is trying to persuade Pelly's Dad not to go. This is a very good novel and I highly recommend it to people age 9-12. Hope you like the book!

Steel Pelicans

This story is about a club called Steel Pelicans. The members of the club are two kids named Pete and Dean who live in Australia.In chapter 3 and 4, Petes parents decide to go and live in New Zealand to take care of his Nana,who has unfortunately had a stroke.Just weeks before they left, Petes parents find out that Pete has been testing fireworks.He is in big trouble!I recommend people age 8-13.Hope you like the book!

Steel Pelicans

Dean Steele and Pete Kelly “Pelly” are the Steel Pelicans.

C.H.1.Pete was on top of Hill 60 being a lookout for Dean who was setting up the fireworks. The first fuse didn’t blow but the second one did blow.

C.H.2.They went back to Dean’s house and played “Knight of the zombies.” When Pete got home, his mum and dad told Pete that his nana was really ill and said that they are going to live in New Zealand.

C.H.3.Pete’s dad, Brendon, resigned from his job in Australia. Dean and Pete went to the super-market and got four packets of matches. They got stopped by the security guard. The police got there and said that people use matches for drugs.

I recommend this book for Y5 up. Hope you enjoy the book.

Steel Pelicans

Dean Steele and Pete Kelly `Pelly’ for short, are the

Steal Pelicans, it’s because of their names.

Pelly was on lookout, it was a great view. Dean called him down “Pelly we found a dead rat, where going to blow it up. The fireworks ready.” The problem is it blew up when Pelly was in the tunnel. He looked like a zombie. Pelly’s family wanted to move because his Nana was sick. Dean wanted Pelly to come for sleep overs before the move. Dean bought matches and the police thought he was making drugs.

That’s all I’ve read for now.
